Marital and Relationship Counseling: Relationship problems can negatively impact our day-to-day functioning and life satisfaction. In my work, I help couples, families, and individuals not just cope and survive their difficulties, but thrive in their relationships. I am trained in the Gottman method and use empirically validated methods to help improve and strengthen partner and family relationships. I find couples and family counseling very rewarding because I enjoy helping relationships flourish and making people happy. The clients I work the best with are the ones who are willing to acknowledge that they have a role in their relationship problems and are willing to try something new and different than what they had been doing in the past.

Parenting Counseling and Guidance: Being a first-time (or really anytime) parent can be challenging. It is no joke that it is the hardest job in the world. At times, your anxieties and fears may be overwhelming, and you may need support or guidance on how to cope. I specialize in fostering deep, emotionally attuned, and long lasting relationships with parents and their children. My techniques and strategies are based on Daniel Siegel’s and John Gottman’s work which builds secure attachment between parents and their children.

Parenting Support and Book Groups: Sometimes what parents need are other parents to discuss topics of parenting and get support. I host groups to help parents engage in meaningful discussions about this beautiful and at times, difficult, journey of parenting.

Premarital Counseling: Thinking about and preparing for marriage is fun and also at times anxiety provoking. People can be scared about “making the wrong decision” or “choosing the wrong person”. I work with couples to ease that anxiety by helping them focus on improving their relationship skills. The best way to increase your chances of having a good marriage in the future is to be the best partner you can be.

Intern and Student Counseling: Once you know where you want to go in your career, you think it would be easy to get there. However, student and intern life is not always as direct of a route as one would hope. Life happens while you are on your career path. Therapy can help you manage the demands of your life inside and outside the classroom/office so that you are able to perform at your optimum potential and improve your journey toward your career. I accept referrals from local colleges and universities and provide therapy at reduced rates when necessary or available for students and interns.

MFT Intern Supervision: I provide supervision to MFT interns which focuses on the systems dynamics present in couples and families as well as cultural competency. My experience working the Department of Mental Health provided me with an appreciation for the laws and ethics of our profession as well as the importance of documentation.

Workshops and Presentations: Throughout the year, I host workshops on parenting, relationships, meditation and similar topics. For more information or to request a presentation, feel free to contact me via email or phone.
